The M5 was developed by the USA in 1942 and was a personnel carrier. The M5 was supplied to the UK, France & Russia under lend lease.
Nearly 7,500 M5s were produced between 1942 and 1943. It had a range of 125 miles and a top speed of 42mph.
The A1 model was fitted with a M49 machine gun mount and could carry either one 0.5inch Browning heavy machine gun or two M1919 Browning machine guns. 2,859 M5A1s were produced. It remained in service in several nations after WWII.
