The 41 model had 5 barrels firing 15cm rockets. It saw service with the German Army from 1941 to 1945 in all theatres except Norway.
The Nebelwerfer (smoke mortar) was organised into 6 launchers per battery and three batteries per battalion. Its maximum range was 7,850 metres.
The launcher could fire high explosives, smoke and chemical weapons. Over 5.200 models were built during the course of the war.
